However, for a successful implementation, it’s important that the staff learn to monitor and handle incoming online bookings, as a missed confirmation or unnoticed reservation could cause inconvenience to both the guest and the restaurant.

If you’ve never used such a system before, it’s best to introduce it gradually. Set it up so guests can only book for the next day – for example, on Monday they can only reserve for Tuesday. This gives the staff time to review incoming bookings and ensures that no one arrives without the restaurant being aware of their reservation.

At the start, it’s recommended to make about 30% of your restaurant’s capacity available for online booking and enable automatic confirmation.
